Records
Clint Dempsey's place in American soccer history is secure. He shares the all-time U.S. men's scoring record with 57 goals and was the first American to score a hat-trick in the Premier League. He scored in three different World Cups, a feat matched by only two other Americans. His 72 goals in top-tier European leagues remain the most by any U.S. player. In 2022, he was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame, a fitting honor for a player who helped raise the profile of American soccer abroad.
