Clint Barton was born in Waverly, Iowa. After his parents died in a drunk-driving accident, he and his older brother Barney were sent to a state orphanage. They ran away and joined a traveling carnival, where Clint was taken under the wing of the Swordsman and later Trick Shot, who trained him in archery and acrobatics. Eventually, Clint left the carnival and became a star performer, but his life took a turn when he witnessed Iron Man in action and decided to become a superhero.
