Clevatess

Yūji Iwahara launched Clevatess on Line Digital Frontier's Line Manga service in August 2020 before relocating the series to Media Factory's Comic Alive+ website in April 2024. The story introduces readers to a bizarre trio consisting of Clevatess, the King of Dark Beasts; a human infant named Alicia; and Klen, a resurrected corpse who was once a hero. This unlikely family unit travels through a dangerous fantasy world where political intrigue and ancient evils threaten their survival.

The narrative subverts standard shonen tropes by focusing on redemption and found family dynamics rather than traditional heroic conquests. As the undead protagonist struggles to protect the vulnerable baby while navigating complex relationships with other monsters, the plot explores themes of life, death, and the possibility of change even for those deemed irredeemable. Recent developments in the second season reveal deeper lore regarding the Lords of Dark Beasts and secret isekai elements that recontextualize the characters' origins. [edit]
