Clannad hold the Guinness World Record for the most number of hits in the Irish charts by a group. They were inducted into the Irish Music Hall of Fame in 2000, and received the IFTA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014. Moya Brennan was awarded an Honorary MBE in 2017. Their album Landmarks sold over a million copies worldwide, and they have eight UK Top 10 albums, a rare feat for an Irish band. Their music continues to stream in the millions, with "Theme from Harry's Game" surpassing 50 million streams on Spotify.

AwardsClannad have won a Grammy, a BAFTA, an Ivor Novello Award, a Billboard Music Award, and a Meteor Lifetime Achievement Award. Their Grammy came for Best New Age Album for Landmarks in 1998. The BAFTA was for Best Original Television Music for "Theme from Harry's Game" in 1983. They also received the Ivor Novello for Best Film Theme for "Robin (The Hooded Man)" in 1985.
