    Chuck Norris won the International Karate Championship three years in a row (1968–1970) and the All-American Karate Championship in 1969, establishing himself as a top martial artist before his film career. On television, he won a People's Choice Award for Favorite Male TV Performer in 1998 for Walker, Texas Ranger. He received honorary doctorates from Liberty University (2006) and Lincoln Memorial University (2015). In 2026, the U.S. Congress posthumously awarded him the Congressional Gold Medal for his humanitarian work with children through the Kickstart Kids program. He was inducted into the Martial Arts History Museum Hall of Fame in 2000 and the U.S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2005.
