Chris Olave

Christian Josiah Olave is an American professional football wide receiver for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League. Born in San Marcos, Texas, he quickly rose to prominence after a standout college career at Ohio State University where he set school records for touchdown receptions. Selected 19th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, Olave has established himself as a primary weapon in the Saints' offense.

As of late 2026, Olave remains a central figure in New Orleans, recently securing his future with the team through a contract extension signed in July. His playing style combines elite speed with precise route-running, making him a frequent target for quarterbacks under center. Fans and analysts alike recognize his ability to create separation and make difficult catches in traffic. [edit]

Christian Josiah Olave grew up in San Marcos, Texas, a suburb just south of Austin. He attended San Marcos High School, where he quickly became one of the most sought-after recruits in the state. Despite being rated as a three-star recruit initially, his performance on the field spoke volumes. During his high school career, he accumulated over 3,000 receiving yards and scored 40 touchdowns, earning multiple All-State honors along the way.

Unlike many peers who committed to major programs early in their junior year, Olave took a measured approach. He focused heavily on his academics while refining his athletic skills at home. This decision allowed him to develop a mature understanding of the game before stepping onto a collegiate stage. His commitment to Ohio State University marked the beginning of his journey toward the pros, placing him in a competitive Big Ten environment that would further hone his abilities against top-tier competition. [edit]

Olave enrolled at Ohio State University in 2018, though he saw significant action starting in 2019. In his freshman season, he recorded 47 receptions for 637 yards and seven touchdowns, immediately proving he belonged in the Buckeyes' offense. He continued to improve each year, culminating in his junior season in 2021 when he set the school record for most touchdown receptions by a wide receiver with 35.

The 2022 NFL Draft saw the New Orleans Saints select him 19th overall. He stepped straight into a starting role, finishing his rookie year with 59 receptions, 865 yards, and five touchdowns. His performance earned him a spot on the PFWA All-Rookie Team. The following year, he solidified his status as a number-one receiver with 70 catches for 1,123 yards. By 2026, despite some injury concerns during the season, he remained a focal point of the offense. On July 30, 2026, he signed a significant contract extension to stay in New Orleans. That same year, he was named to the Associated Press Second Team All-Pro list and ranked 64th on the NFL Top 100 Players list. [edit]

Chris Olave projects an image of humility and focus. Unlike some of his peers who seek constant media attention, he prefers to let his play do the talking. His social media presence is curated around faith, family, and highlights rather than celebrity lifestyle. Analysts describe his style as efficient and precise, noting his ability to run crisp routes and secure difficult catches. The "Touch$" moniker has become a subtle nod to his business-minded approach to the sport, suggesting a player who values both on-field performance and financial stability. [edit]

iFANN has not yet collected fame data for this person. He is not featured on the September 2026 iFAMOUS Rankings flagship list. While there is no official fandom name specific to him, he enjoys strong support from Saints Nation. Fans affectionately refer to him as "Olive" or "The Touch$" player on social media platforms. Digital billboards in New Orleans have appeared to celebrate his recent contract extension, and charity drives in his name support youth football programs in Texas. The fanbase respects his quiet demeanor and consistent production on the field. [edit]

Olave's Instagram bio features the tagline "Blessed | Touch$," which reflects his focus on gratitude and financial success rather than just athletic achievement. During a Monday Night Football game against the Atlanta Falcons in October 2026, he made a spectacular contested catch that drew praise from ESPN commentators Peyton and Eli Manning for defying physics. His 35 touchdown receptions at Ohio State broke a long-standing school record, cementing his legacy in college football history. Despite his fame, he maintains a relatively private personal life and rarely discusses romantic relationships in public interviews. He is known to be devoutly Christian and often credits God for his success in post-game comments. [edit]

Olave comes from a close-knit family in San Marcos, Texas. While he keeps details about his parents and siblings out of the spotlight, he frequently acknowledges their support in his social media posts. His family has been a constant presence throughout his rise from high school star to NFL first-round pick. He lives primarily in the New Orleans area during the season but maintains ties to his hometown in Texas. There are no widely reported stories about extended family members in the public eye, allowing him to keep his personal life separate from his professional achievements. [edit]

This figure reflects his earnings from his initial four-year rookie contract valued at roughly $11.5 million and the significant extension he signed in July 2026.
