Chisato Nishikigi

Chisato Nishikigi is one of the two protagonists of the anime series Lycoris Recoil, created by Spider Lily and Asaura. She serves as the most talented agent in the Lycoris program, a covert group of young female operatives working for the secret organization Direct Attack to maintain peace in Japan. Blessed with superhuman reflexes, Chisato can dodge bullets even at point-blank range, a skill that sets her apart. Yet she is a committed pacifist, refusing to kill and instead using rubber bullets that only temporarily incapacitate enemies. This puts her at odds with Direct Attack's lethal methods. By day, she works as a cheerful waitress at LycoReco, a café front for the organization. Early in the series, she is partnered with Takina Inoue, a rule-breaking agent transferred to the café. Chisato teaches Takina the value of pacifism and enjoying life beyond the mission. Director Shingo Adachi initially envisioned Chisato as a serious character, but the team shifted her to a bright, optimistic personality to make her more appealing. Her bullet-dodging ability was conceived because Adachi felt making her only proficient with guns would be too limiting. Chika Anzai voices Chisato in Japanese, with Lizzie Freeman providing the English dub. Misato Kawauchi portrayed her in the stage play adaptation.
