Charles Stanley's impact on evangelical Christianity is hard to overstate. He led First Baptist Church Atlanta for 49 years, growing it from a few hundred to over 15,000 members, and founded a media ministry that reached over 2,000 stations globally. His books sold over 10 million copies, and his sermons were translated into more than 50 languages. He served as president of the Southern Baptist Convention, a sign of his influence among peers.
