Nico Robin was born on the island of Ohara, a haven for scholars studying the ancient Poneglyph stones. When the government learned of Ohara's research into the Void Century, they unleashed a Buster Call, destroying the island and killing everyone, including Robin's mother Nico Olvia and mentor Professor Clover.
