Misa Amane

Misa Amane was born on December 25, 1984 in Tokyo. When she was young, a burglar murdered her parents. The killer evaded punishment through legal loopholes, leaving Misa furious at the justice system. She prayed for the criminal's death, and Kira answered by killing the man. From that moment, Misa viewed Kira as a god and devoted herself to his cause.

She later obtained a Death Note from the Shinigami Rem, who was drawn to her strong emotions. Misa used the notebook to kill criminals independently, becoming known as the Second Kira before she ever met Light Yagami in person. [edit]

Misa is outwardly bubbly, energetic, and cheerful, often referring to herself in the third person as Misa Misa. She wears Gothic Lolita fashion and maintains a bright public persona as a model and actress. Beneath this surface, she is deeply obsessive and emotionally dependent on Light Yagami, whom she worships as Kira. Her devotion borders on fanaticism, and she is willing to sacrifice her own lifespan and safety to support him.

During the Yotsuba arc, Misa infiltrates the Yotsuba Group to help Light and L. She is captured and imprisoned by L multiple times, each time requiring Light to rescue her. Rem sacrifices herself to kill L and Watari when Misa's life is threatened, a turning point that leaves Misa without her Shinigami protector.

In the later arcs, Misa's role diminishes. She loses her memories of the Death Note temporarily and later has them restored. After Light's defeat and death, she is left alone. One year later, on Valentine's Day, she commits suicide by jumping from a building, unable to live without her god.[edit]
