Overview
Origin Story
Albert Wesker was taken from his parents as a child by agents of Oswell E. Spencer, the founder of Umbrella Corporation, and raised in a eugenics program called Project W. The project aimed to create a superior human race by exposing children to a virus. Most subjects died, but Wesker and one other survived. He later earned degrees in biotechnology and joined Umbrella as a virologist, working alongside William Birkin to develop the T-Virus. In 1996, Umbrella placed him as captain of the Raccoon City S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team, where he acted as a mole, feeding combat data to the company.
Personality
Wesker is cold, calculating, and supremely arrogant. He views himself as the next step in human evolution and considers others as pawns or obstacles. He is a master manipulator, always several steps ahead, and rarely shows genuine emotion. His calm demeanor masks a ruthless ambition. He has a flair for the dramatic, often taunting his enemies with biting remarks.
Story Arc
Wesker first betrays his S.T.A.R.S. team in the original Resident Evil, luring them into a mansion filled with bio-organic weapons to gather combat data. He is seemingly killed by the Tyrant but survives after injecting himself with an experimental T-Virus, gaining superhuman abilities. In Code: Veronica, he resurfaces with enhanced speed and strength, stealing Umbrella's research. Over the next decade, he manipulates global events, eventually partnering with Tricell to release the Uroboros virus, intending to wipe out most of humanity and evolve the survivors. In Resident Evil 5, Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar confront him. Wesker is overdosed with his stabilizing serum and thrown into a volcano, where he dies.
