Agent 47

Agent 47 was created by Dr. Otto Wolfgang Ort-Meyer, a scientist who funded his research with the help of five criminal masterminds who donated their own DNA: Pablo Ochoa, Lee Hong, Frantz Fuchs, Arkadij Jegorov, and Ort-Meyer himself. The goal was to produce an army of obedient, highly skilled soldiers. In Hitman: Codename 47, 47 escapes from a Romanian sanatorium and is recruited by the International Contract Agency (ICA) as an assassin. His first missions take him to Hong Kong, Colombia, Budapest, and Rotterdam, where he eliminates four seemingly unrelated targets. He later discovers these targets were his genetic donors, or fathers, and returns to the sanatorium to confront and kill Ort-Meyer, who unleashes a horde of failed clones. [edit]

Agent 47 is defined by his cold professionalism, emotional detachment, and unwavering efficiency. He rarely displays emotion and speaks in a calm, measured tone. He follows a strict personal code: he never kills for pleasure, only for payment, and he refuses to harm innocent bystanders. Over the series, he shows glimmers of humanity, particularly in his relationships with Diana Burnwood and Father Vittorio, and occasionally expresses dry humor. In Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, 47 attempts to leave the assassin life, working as a church gardener, but is drawn back when Father Vittorio is kidnapped. Hitman: Contracts revisits earlier missions while 47 lies wounded, reflecting on his past. Hitman: Blood Money sees journalist Alexander Leland Cayne investigating 47, culminating in 47 faking his own death to escape a rival organization. Hitman: Absolution has 47 betrayed by the ICA and protecting a young girl named Victoria. The World of Assassination trilogy reboots the story, deepening 47's partnership with Diana Burnwood as they dismantle the ICA and confront the shadowy Providence organization.
