In just his second full major league season, Rafaela won the American League Gold Glove Award and the Fielding Bible Award for center field, establishing himself as one of the best defensive outfielders in baseball. He also delivered two of the most memorable hits of the 2025 Red Sox season: the shortest walk-off home run at Fenway Park since Statcast tracking began, and a walk-off triple that clinched a playoff berth. His first All-Star selection in 2026 recognized his all-around contributions.

In 2022, while playing for High-A Greenville and Double-A Portland, Rafaela hit 32 doubles, 10 triples, and 21 home runs, the only minor leaguer to achieve that combination.
