Case Keenum

Casey Austin Keenum arrived in Abilene, Texas, on February 17, 1988, and eventually became one of the most durable quarterbacks in college football history. He spent his formative years at the University of Houston, where he shattered every major passing record imaginable. By the time he left for the pros, he held the NCAA marks for total passing yards, touchdowns, and completions. His 2011 season stands out as particularly dominant; he led the Football Bowl Subdivision in total offense while becoming the only Division I player to throw for over 5,000 yards in three consecutive seasons. No other quarterback reached that specific plateau in career total offense either. Keenum entered the National Football League as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans in 2012. After starting eight games in 2013 and throwing for 1,760 yards, he faced uncertainty when waived before the 2014 season. His path to stardom required resilience, leading him through practice squads with the St. Louis Rams and back to the Texans before a trade sent him to Los Angeles in 2015. The turning point came in Minnesota during the 2017 season when starter Sam Bradford suffered an injury. Keemann stepped into the spotlight and delivered a career-defining performance, setting personal highs across nearly every statistical category. He guided the Vikings to a 13-win regular season and orchestrated the famous Minneapolis Miracle against the New Orleans Saints, sending the team to the NFC Championship game. Since that magical run, Keenum has remained a staple in the league as a reliable backup and occasional starter. His career trajectory took him from Denver to Washington, then Cleveland, Buffalo, and back to Houston before landing with the Chicago Bears. Throughout his professional tenure, he has proven his ability to adapt to different systems and lead teams regardless of the roster around him.
