Vijay's career is defined by box-office dominance. He holds the record for the most Tamil films to gross over ₹200 crore (seven films). Leo (2023) became the highest-grossing Tamil film of that year and one of the top five highest-grossing Tamil films ever. He is one of the few Indian actors to have a fan organization (VMI) that actively participates in social welfare, running blood banks and disaster relief. His political victory in 2026 is unprecedented for a film star in Tamil Nadu, marking a historic crossover from entertainment to governance.
