Bugatti Tourbillon

On 20 June 2024, Bugatti unveiled the Tourbillon via an online live stream, and the automotive world collectively held its breath. This mid-engine hybrid sports car, the successor to the Chiron, is limited to just 250 units at a price of €3.8 million (around US$4.1 million). Its name, borrowed from the precision mechanism in luxury mechanical watches, signals an ambition to merge horological artistry with automotive engineering. The result is a machine that looks like a concept car but is fully production-ready.

Under the skin, the Tourbillon pairs a naturally aspirated 8.3-liter V16 engine with three electric motors, producing a combined 1,800 horsepower. The V16 alone churns out 986 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque, while the electric motors add instant response and flexibility. This hybrid setup is a bold departure from the Chiron's quad-turbo W16, yet it retains the visceral, spine-tingling emotion that Bugatti owners crave. The car's design, with a sharply futuristic silhouette and a cockpit inspired by Swiss watchmaking, pushes the brand's visual language forward while staying unmistakably Bugatti.

Production begins in 2026, and pre-production prototypes are already undergoing rigorous testing, including snowy sessions with CEO Mate Rimac at the wheel. The Tourbillon has sparked intense debate among enthusiasts, with many hailing it as the new benchmark for hypercars.
