Established in 1960 in Boston by Arne Glimcher, Pace Gallery began its journey under a name derived from a nickname for Glimcher's father. The gallery relocated to Manhattan in 1963, a move that significantly expanded its presence and influence within the international art scene.
Currently, Pace operates nine locations across key global art centers including New York, London, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles, with additional spaces in Geneva, Seoul, East Hampton, Tokyo, and Palm Beach. The leadership of the gallery has transitioned to Marc Glimcher, son of the founder, who serves as president and CEO. Pace represents a wide array of influential artists and estates from the 20th and 21st centuries, presenting significant works through exhibitions of paintings, drawings, and sculptures.
