Kung Fu Tea
"Fresh, innovative, and fearless"
About
Brothers Michael and Richard Wang opened the first Kung Fu Tea storefront in Queens, New York, on April 30, 2010. That single location grew into the largest American bubble tea franchise with more than 350 stores nationwide today. The company keeps its operational headquarters in New York City while driving expansion through a franchising model that has reached every corner of the United States.
The menu focuses on made-to-order drinks using fresh ingredients rather than pre-mixed syrups. Customers choose from over 60 flavors of boba milk teas, slushes, and smoothies. This customization strategy separates the brand from competitors who rely on standardized recipes across all locations.
Kung Fu Tea recently expanded beyond physical shops by launching powdered drink mixes for home hydration in March 2026. The brand also partners with major entities like Red Bull for summer campaigns and Pudgy Penguins for character-themed collectibles. These collaborations appear at all 330 participating stores alongside seasonal promotions advertised heavily on social media platforms.
