High-Flyer, officially known as Ningbo High-Flyer Quantitative Investment Management Partnership (Limited Partnership), began its journey in February 2016. Founded by Liang Wenfeng and two of his former Zhejiang University classmates, the company is registered in Ningbo, Zhejiang, with its main operations centered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. The firm's foundation was influenced by the algorithmic trading concepts that gained traction following the 2008 financial crisis. High-Flyer operates through two subsidiaries regulated by AMAC: Zhejiang High-Flyer Asset Management Co., Ltd., established in 2015, and Ningbo High-Flyer Quant Investment Management Partnership LLP, formed in 2016. These entities collectively manage a diverse portfolio of over 450 investment products.

Beyond its core investment activities, High-Flyer is also recognized as the founder and primary financial supporter of DeepSeek, an artificial intelligence company. This strategic involvement in AI highlights High-Flyer's forward-thinking approach, aiming to integrate advanced technology with financial strategies. The company started exploring multi-factor price-volume models for stock positions in 2016, rigorously testing them the following year, and has since evolved to incorporate machine learning-based strategies into its investment methodologies.
