Days With My Stepsister
About
Ghost Mikawa launched a unique mixed-media project in the spring of 2020 with a simple YouTube channel that quickly gained traction. The concept centers on an unlikely domestic arrangement between two teenagers who become step-siblings after their parents marry. What started as a series of short videos evolved into a light novel published by Media Factory under the MF Bunko J imprint in January 2021, featuring illustrations by Hiten. A manga adaptation followed shortly after, serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Shōnen Ace Plus starting in July 2021. The franchise reached a new audience when Studio Deen adapted the story into an anime television series that aired from July to September 2024. This production brought the quiet, slice-of-life tone to life with vibrant animation and a focus on character dynamics rather than high-stakes drama. Viewers tuned in to watch the slow-burn relationship between the protagonists unfold within the confines of a shared household. The project stands out for its realistic portrayal of blended family issues and the awkward yet heartwarming moments that arise from living together.
