AMC Global Media, formerly AMC Networks, is a mid-tier independent media company headquartered at 11 Penn Plaza in New York City. Its roots trace to Rainbow Media Holdings, a Cablevision subsidiary founded in late 1980. The AMC channel launched in 1984, and the modern public company emerged on July 1, 2011, when Rainbow Media was spun off from Cablevision. In April 2026, the company rebranded to AMC Global Media, signaling a shift toward global, studio-driven operations. The Dolan family retains majority control through Class B common stock.

The company operates cable networks AMC, BBC America, IFC, Sundance TV, and We TV. Its streaming portfolio includes AMC+, Acorn TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, ALLBLK, HIDIVE, Philo, and IFC Films Unlimited.
