Stevens' back-to-back NCAA championship game appearances with Butler are widely regarded as one of the greatest coaching achievements in college basketball history. He is the only coach to lead a mid-major program to consecutive title games. His 14 NCAA tournament wins at Butler are the most in program history. After transitioning to the NBA front office, he built a championship roster that won the 2024 title, earning praise as one of the league's top executives. His rare career arc, from Division III player to NBA championship-winning executive, makes him a unique figure in basketball.
