    Overview

    Satoru Nii's Wind Breaker follows Haruka Sakura, a first-year student at Furin High School, a place notorious for its delinquent students. Sakura arrives with a chip on his shoulder, eager to fight his way to the top. But he quickly discovers that Furin has changed. The school's toughest students now form a vigilante group called the Bōfu, or Wind Breakers, dedicated to protecting their town from outside threats. Sakura's journey becomes one of unexpected belonging as he learns that strength can be used for more than just personal glory.

    Serialized on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket manga website since January 13, 2021, the series had its individual chapters collected into 26 tankōbon volumes by June 2026. An anime adaptation by CloverWorks aired its first season from April to June 2024, followed by a second season in April 2025. A live-action film adaptation was released in Japanese theaters on December 12, 2025. The manga won the 2022 Kodansha Manga Award in the Shōnen category and was nominated for the Next Manga Award in the Web Manga category in 2021, placing in the top 20. As of July 2024, the series had over 10 million copies in circulation, reflecting strong commercial success.
