Vampire Academy

Richelle Mead launched her global phenomenon in August 2007 with Vampire Academy, a YA fantasy novel that runs 431 pages. The story introduces Rosemarie Hathaway, a seventeen-year-old dhampir who splits her time between protecting humans and fighting supernatural threats. Her life shifts dramatically when she returns to St Vladimir's Academy alongside Lissa Dragomir, a Moroi princess possessing rare magical abilities. After spending two years on the run to keep Lissa safe from bloodthirsty Strigoi, the pair must navigate the rigid social hierarchy of their school while uncovering dark secrets within the walls.[edit]
