J. R. R. Tolkien released the second part of his epic saga on November 11, 1954, with The Two Towers serving as a pivotal bridge between the fellowship's breakup and the final battle for Middle-earth. This 400-page volume splits its focus across two distinct threads that run parallel to one another. Frodo and Sam trek toward Mordor under the shadow of Mount Doom, while Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli lead a desperate defense against Saruman's forces in Rohan.
