Sweetness and Lightning

Gido Amagakure created the manga series Sweetness and Lightning, originally titled Amaama to Inazuma, which ran in Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine from March 2013 through August 2018. The story collected twelve tankōbon volumes and explores the quiet bond between a single father struggling to cook for his young daughter and a student teacher who helps them find joy in simple meals. This slice-of-life narrative focuses on everyday struggles rather than high drama, offering a warm look at family dynamics. An anime adaptation by TMS Entertainment brought the characters to life on screen during the summer of 2016.[edit]
