Now That We Draw

Yuuki Uehara is a socially awkward high school student who idolizes anime and dreams of becoming a manga artist. His aspirations hit a wall when an editor rejects his work for being boring and lacking realism. He soon meets a popular classmate known as a "gyaru" who also wants to make comics but struggles with her own insecurities about romance and authenticity. Both realize they lack the real-life experience needed to write compelling love stories, so they hatch a plan to fake a romantic relationship.

This arrangement becomes a catalyst for genuine character growth as they observe their own emotions and interactions to fuel their art. The series balances comedy with sincere introspection about the creative process, avoiding the typical tropes of instant success or unrealistic talent.
