Noragami

Noragami: Stray God (ノラガミ) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by the duo Adachitoka. It ran in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Magazine from December 2010 to January 2024, with 27 collected volumes. Kodansha USA publishes the English edition in North America.

The story follows Yato, a minor god with no shrine and almost no followers. His luck seems to change when a high school girl named Hiyori Iki pushes him out of the path of an oncoming bus, but she gets hit instead. The accident knocks her soul loose from her body, leaving her able to slip out and wander in a spirit form. She seeks Yato's help to get back to normal, and in the process gets pulled into a world of gods, spirits, and the afterlife. The manga blends action, comedy, and supernatural drama, exploring themes of identity, memory, and the bonds between gods and humans.

A 12-episode anime adaptation by Bones aired in early 2014, followed by a 13-episode second season, Noragami Aragoto, later that year. Both are licensed by Crunchyroll. By February 2024, the manga had sold over 8 million copies, and critics have praised its plot, worldbuilding, and characters. [edit]
