In a World Full of Zombies I'm the Only One Who Doesn't Get Attacked

Rokuro Uraji wakes up to find the world overrun by ravenous zombies, yet he remains the sole human completely ignored by the undead. This light novel series flips the standard survival script by giving its protagonist an ability that defies all logic: monsters walk right past him as if he does not exist. The story began as a web serial on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in January 2013 before gaining enough traction to be picked up for print publication.

Frontier Works launched the first volume under their Nox Novels imprint on February 12, 2016, with illustrations by Saburō bringing Rokuro's bizarre daily life to vivid color. Readers follow his attempts to navigate a chaotic apocalypse while trying to understand why he is invisible to infection and hunger. The narrative balances dark humor with genuine questions about isolation and fear as Rokuro moves through hordes of the infected without ever drawing a bite.

The franchise has grown far beyond its humble online origins into a major multimedia property. A manga adaptation drove sales to over 8.5 million downloads in Japan by late 2024, leading to an exclusive US release on MangaPlaza. That momentum carried into an official anime announcement, which unveiled a teaser trailer and main cast in June 2026 ahead of a scheduled January 2027 premiere. [edit]
