#ImLookingForZombies

Thirteen years before the story begins, a mysterious illness infected 90 percent of humanity with a zombie-like condition. Instead of hiding or fleeing, high school students in this world treat the undead as prey to be hunted for sport. The narrative follows a group of teenagers who balance their daily school lives with strategic planning and weapon preparation to track down these infected targets.

Katsuwo originally serialized the series in ASCII Media Works' Comic Dengeki Daioh "g" magazine from June 2022 through November 2023. The thirteen chapters collected into three tankōbon volumes blend horror elements with absurd comedy. This inversion of the survival genre allows the characters to approach the apocalypse with a mix of tactical seriousness and teenage recklessness.

The franchise gained significant momentum in late 2026 when Yen Press announced an omnibus edition at San Diego Comic-Con. Later that month, the anime adaptation received a main visual and cast list confirming an October 3, 2026 premiere date. An English dub followed immediately on the same day alongside the Japanese broadcast, bringing the story to a global audience. [edit]
