Harta

Harta is a Japanese seinen manga magazine published by Enterbrain, a division of Kadokawa Corporation. It was first launched in 2008 under the name Fellows! and was rebranded as Harta in February 2013. The magazine is published ten times a year, with issues released from February to August and then from October to December. The name Harta is derived from the Indonesian word for treasure, reflecting the magazine's aim to showcase distinctive and high-quality manga.

Harta is known for its diverse range of genres and a focus on literary and artistic merit, often featuring unconventional stories and unique artistic styles. It has serialized critically acclaimed manga such as Mushishi by Yuki Urushibara, Otoyomegatari (A Bride's Story) by Kaoru Mori, and The Great Passage by Mitsuaki Kanno. These series have garnered significant recognition, with Mushishi winning the Kodansha Manga Award and the Seiun Award, and Otoyomegatari receiving the Manga Taisho award and multiple Eisner Award nominations.

In April 2023, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Harta rebranding, Enterbrain launched Harta Alternative, a spin-off web magazine designed to discover new talent. The magazine has also seen several of its serialized works adapted into other media, including anime, live-action films, and stage plays. Notable adaptations include Mushishi (anime and live-action film), The Great Passage (anime, film, and stage play), and March Comes in Like a Lion (anime).[edit]
