Go for It, Nakamura!
Syundei
Overview
Okuto Nakamura is a high school freshman who stumbles through life with his heart set on one person: Aiki Hirose. The story follows Okuto's daily attempts to get closer to the object of his affection while hiding the fact that he is gay from his classmates. Unlike many romance stories that rush toward a relationship, this manga focuses entirely on the painful, funny, and awkward moments of unrequited love. Okuto's clumsiness often leads to physical comedy as he tries to act normal around Aiki, creating a gentle narrative filled with internal monologue and slice-of-life observations.
Syndei created the series originally for the BL magazine Opera, where it ran from 2014 to 2016 before being collected into a single volume. Akane Shinsha published the Japanese edition on December 27, 2014, capturing the specific anxiety of having a crush without knowing if feelings are mutual. Seven Seas Entertainment later licensed the work for an English release in 2018, bringing the story to a wider audience interested in quiet, character-driven romances.
