Overview
Heihachi wakes up in a dying fantasy realm with nothing but a smartphone that functions as a gacha summoning machine. This device lets him spend accumulated resources to randomly pull allies, mostly powerful female warriors and monsters with distinct personalities. The story focuses on his struggle to balance hoarding currency for high-tier pulls against spending it to survive immediate threats. He evolves from a lone survivor into the commander of a formidable army, tackling dungeons and rival factions while managing the randomness of his recruitment system.
The series began as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in January 2016 before Micro Magazine acquired it for print under their GC Novels imprint. Nine physical volumes appeared between November 2016 and August 2020, featuring illustrations by Yasutaka Isekawa. A manga adaptation illustrated by Syuu Haruno started serialization in March 2018 on Comic Ride. As of June 2026, Kaiten Books has released fourteen digital volumes in English, though the light novels remain untranslated.
An anime television series produced by Zero-G and Saber Works is set to premiere in January 2027. Crunchyroll announced a teaser trailer in July 2026 and confirmed voice cast members Ai Kayano and Rie Kugimiya in August. Critics note the faithful translation of mobile gaming loops into narrative form, even if some find the supporting cast development shallow compared to the protagonist's strategic growth.
