Satoko, the sheltered daughter of a Taisho-era nobleman, faces an arranged marriage to a man she loathes. Desperate, she hires Shinpei, a notorious assassin, to kill her suitor. Shinpei accepts on one condition: Satoko must marry him instead. Bound to a remorseless killer, she is dragged into a violent underworld where bloodshed is routine. The series asks whether love can survive between a gentle aristocrat and a man who kills for a living, or if their bond will be consumed by the darkness that defines his life.

Oreco Tachibana's manga ran on Shogakukan's Ura Sunday website and MangaONE app from January 17, 2023, to February 25, 2026, collected into four tankōbon volumes. The English digital edition is published by Viz Media under its Shojo Beat imprint, with the first volume released on February 4, 2025. The series holds a 7.93/10 on MyAnimeList and 4.2/5 on Anime-Planet, praised for Tachibana's delicate period art contrasted with graphic violence and the intense chemistry between the leads.

An anime adaptation by David Production is scheduled for October 2026. The series was a finalist in the 2025 Next Manga Award's web manga category. Cumulative print and digital sales in Japan have exceeded 500,000 copies as of early 2026.[edit]
