Ex-Arm

Ex-Arm throws readers into a cyberpunk world where technology and warfare have fused in terrifying ways. The story centers on Akira Natsume, a high school student who dies in an accident and is resurrected 16 years later with his brain implanted into a high-tech combat weapon known as an Ex-Arm. Now a living arsenal, Akira is thrust into a conflict between humans and advanced AI, forced to navigate a world he no longer recognizes while struggling to control his new powers. The manga, written by HiRock and illustrated by Shinya Komi, is a remake of Komi's earlier series Ex-Vita. It originally ran in Shueisha's seinen magazine Grand Jump from February 2015 to December 2017, then moved to the Shonen Jump+ digital platform until June 2019. The 14 collected volumes offer a fast-paced mix of sci-fi action and character drama. A sequel, Ex-Arm EXA, followed from August 2019 to February 2021, spanning two volumes. The franchise also inspired a 12-episode anime adaptation by Visual Flight that aired in early 2021, though its reception was mixed.[edit]
