Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san?

Ryon's manga Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san? launched on the Ganma! web service in June 2021 and quickly gained traction for its unique take on relationships. The story follows a young man who meets a girl named Chihara, whose self-deprecating humor and social awkwardness make him question if she is actually dangerous or just misunderstood. Ichijinsha has collected the chapters into nine volumes by July 2026, with each book running approximately 180 pages. Readers appreciate how the series balances sharp comedy with genuine moments of connection as the characters navigate their differences. The work fits squarely into the romantic comedy genre while exploring themes of mental health and social anxiety without becoming overly heavy. Ryon draws inspiration from real-life interactions to create dialogue that feels authentic rather than forced. An anime adaptation produced by SynergySP will bring these scenes to life when it premieres in January 2027.[edit]
