Bob Marley's achievements are historic. He is the best-selling reggae artist of all time, with over 75 million records sold worldwide. His compilation Legend is the best-selling reggae album, certified Diamond by the RIAA. Rolling Stone ranked him No. 11 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time and No. 98 on its list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time. His album Exodus was named Album of the Century by Time magazine in 1999. He was the first Caribbean artist to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His music continues to inspire millions, and his estate remains one of the most lucrative for a deceased musician, consistently ranking among Forbes' top-earning dead celebrities.

AwardsBob Marley received numerous posthumous honors. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001. In February 1981, he was awarded Jamaica's Order of Merit, the highest national honor for arts and science. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2001 and was inducted into the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame in 2022. In 1978, the United Nations awarded him the Peace Medal for his contributions to peace and human rights.
