Bob Fosse stands as one of the most decorated figures in the history of American theater and cinema. His collection of awards includes an Academy Award, a BAFTA, three Emmys, nine Tonys, and two Palme d'Ors. He holds the record for the most Tony Awards won by an individual, a testament to his unparalleled impact on Broadway. His unique blend of jazz, burlesque, and psychological storytelling created a style that remains influential today. AwardsBob Fosse won an Academy Award for Best Director for Cabaret (1972) and received nominations for Lenny (1974) and All That Jazz (1979). At the Golden Globes, he won Best Director for Cabaret and Best Motion Picture – Drama for All That Jazz. He received three Primetime Emmy Awards: one for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special for Liza with a Z (1973), and two for Outstanding Choreography for The Garry Moore Show (1956) and The Danny Kaye Show (1957). On Broadway, he won nine Tony Awards: four for Best Direction of a Musical (The Pajama Game, Damn Yankees, Sweet Charity, Chicago), three for Best Choreography (The Pajama Game, Damn Yankees, Sweet Charity), and two for Best Director of a Musical (Pippin, Chicago). He also won the BAFTA Award for Best Director for Cabaret.
