Bo Xilai

Bo Xilai's career was marked by significant political achievements, though his legacy is overshadowed by his downfall. As Mayor of Dalian, he transformed the city's infrastructure and attracted foreign investment. As Party Secretary of Chongqing, he implemented the "Chongqing Model," which produced double-digit GDP growth and ambitious welfare programs. His rise to the Politburo was a testament to his political acumen. However, his methods were controversial, and his conviction for corruption erased these accomplishments. Today, his legacy is studied as a cautionary tale in Chinese political history.
