BMW M4

The BMW M4 is the high-performance variant of the BMW 4 Series, developed by BMW's M division. It debuted in 2014 as the successor to the M3 coupe and convertible, following BMW's decision to split the 3 Series coupe and convertible into the 4 Series line. The M4 features a twin-turbo inline-six engine, upgraded suspension, a sportier exhaust system, and extensive carbon fiber components including the roof and door panels to reduce weight. The Competition trim delivers 503 horsepower, while the CSL variant sheds 100 kilograms for sharper track performance. The M4 competes directly with the Audi RS5 and Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe.

For the 2027 model year, the M4 carries over with mostly minor updates. The starting MSRP is $83,550 for the base coupe, with the Competition xDrive Convertible starting at $99,950. The M4 is available as a coupe or convertible, with rear-wheel drive standard and xDrive all-wheel drive optional on Competition models. A 6-speed manual transmission is available on base models, while the Competition uses an 8-speed automatic.
