The 26-year-old athlete emerged from the collegiate ranks after developing his skills at Ole Miss before transferring to the University of Pittsburgh. As of 2026, he continues to compete for a permanent spot on the active roster while contributing significantly to the franchise's development culture. [edit]

Blake Demond Hinson arrived in Deltona, Florida, where he spent his formative years developing a deep love for basketball. Sources sometimes cite Daytona Beach as his birthplace, but detailed records confirm Deltona as his hometown. He attended high school in Florida, where he quickly distinguished himself as a versatile scorer capable of handling multiple positions on the court. This early success laid the groundwork for his recruitment into Division I college basketball programs.

Hinson began his collegiate journey with the Ole Miss Rebels, gaining valuable experience in the Southeastern Conference. Seeking more playing time and offensive responsibility, he transferred to the University of Pittsburgh Panthers. At Pitt, he transformed into a primary option for the offense, averaging 13.2 points per game over 129 contests. He finished his college career with 1,707 points, 586 rebounds, and 298 three-point field goals. These statistics made him a notable name entering the 2023 NBA Draft, though he entered the league as an undrafted free agent rather than a first-round pick. [edit]

Hinson entered the NBA landscape in 2023 by signing with the Utah Jazz organization. His path was not immediate; he spent his rookie season navigating the G League with the Salt Lake City Stars while fighting for minutes on the main roster. The Jazz recognized his potential as a shooter who could stretch the floor, a skill highly valued in modern basketball schemes. Throughout the 2023–24 season, he worked to prove his consistency against higher-level competition.

In 2025, the organization rewarded his development by signing him to a two-year contract. This deal included $230,433 in guaranteed salary, signaling a commitment to his growth within the system. By October 2026, Hinson had become a staple in summer league rotations and exhibition games. Reports highlighted his earnest attitude and willingness to contribute in any capacity, whether scoring from deep or providing energy off the bench. His ability to hit shots from beyond the arc earned him specific praise in mid-October 2026, with highlights circulating of him hitting difficult long-range attempts. [edit]
