Billy Corgan

Billy Corgan's greatest accolade is his enduring influence on alternative rock. As the primary songwriter of the Smashing Pumpkins, he helped shape the genre's sound in the 1990s. His guitar work is often cited as underrated, and his ability to blend heavy riffs with melodic introspection set a template for many bands. In 2026, he was celebrated at the Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony, a nod to his lasting contributions to music.
