Big Hit Music

Big Hit Music started as a small label founded by producer Bang Si-hyuk in 2005, originally under the name Big Hit Entertainment. For years, it operated in the shadow of South Korea's major entertainment companies, managing modestly successful acts like 8Eight and 2AM. Everything changed when the label took a chance on a hip-hop-oriented boy group that would become BTS. Their explosive global success transformed Big Hit from a niche player into a powerhouse. In 2021, the company restructured: Big Hit Entertainment became Hybe Corporation, a parent company, while the label operations were spun off as Big Hit Music, a subsidiary. Today, Big Hit Music manages BTS, Tomorrow X Together, soloist Lee Hyun, and the rookie group Cortis. The label is known for artist-driven storytelling, high-production music videos, and a strong connection with its fanbase. With BTS generating billions in revenue and TXT building their own global following, Big Hit Music has proven that independent labels can compete with the industry's giants. [edit]
