Azur Lane: Slow Ahead!

The ship girls of the Azur Lane mobile game trade their guns for frying pans and their battle tactics for cooking competitions in this four-panel manga spin-off. Written and illustrated by Hori, the series transforms the warship personifications into a cast of friends navigating mundane life. Enterprise, Belfast, Javelin, Hood, and others appear in self-contained chapters that focus on domestic activities: baking a cake, organizing a beach trip, or arguing over who gets the last pudding. The humor comes from the contrast between their legendary naval origins and their very ordinary problems.

Serialization began in March 2018 in Ichijinsha's Manga 4-koma Palette magazine. Four compiled tankōbon volumes have been released in Japan, with an English translation by Seven Seas Entertainment starting in May 2020. The series has proven popular enough to warrant an anime adaptation: the first season, co-produced by Candy Box and Yostar Pictures, aired twelve episodes from January to March 2021. A second season, handled solely by Candy Box, is scheduled for July 2026.
