Atlético Nacional

Founded on March 7, 1947, by Luis Alberto Villegas López, Atlético Nacional began as a municipal team in Medellín before adopting its current identity in 1950. The club holds a rare distinction in Colombian football: it is one of only three teams to have played in every single first-division tournament since the league started. A major turning point arrived in 1996 when Organización Ardila Lülle took control, restructuring the entity into a professional corporation that guides the club to this day.
