Atlante Fútbol Club, often called Los Potros de Hierro, stands as one of Mexico's historic football institutions. Based in Mexico City, the club has navigated the ups and downs of Mexican football, currently competing in Liga MX. Its home grounds have often been the legendary Estadio Azteca, a place synonymous with the sport's biggest moments.

The club's origins trace back to 1916, with a name evolution that saw it known as Sinaloa, Lusitania, and even U-53 before settling on Atlante in 1921. This rich history includes being a founding member of Mexico's first professional league. While the club boasts significant domestic silverware, including three league titles and two Copa México wins, its journey has also seen periods in the second division. The club's resilience showed as they returned to the top flight each time, though a significant low point came in 2014 when they were forced to relocate to Cancún due to financial difficulties.
