About
ATEEZ debuted on October 24, 2018 with the EP TREASURE EP.1: All To Zero, introducing their signature pirate-themed concept. The group quickly gained attention for their intense performance style and intricate storyline, known as the TREASURE series. Their first music show win came in June 2019 with Wave from TREASURE EP.3: One To All, marking a turning point in their career. By 2020, they had released their first studio album TREASURE EP.FIN: All To Action, which topped the Gaon Album Chart.
The FEVER era (2020-2021) saw ATEEZ expand their sound and narrative, exploring themes of youth and rebellion. Albums like ZERO: FEVER Part.1 and Part.2 debuted at number one on the Gaon Album Chart, and the group began charting on the Billboard 200. Their 2022 release THE WORLD EP.1: MOVEMENT with the lead single Guerrilla marked a shift toward a dystopian cyberpunk concept, earning them their first top 10 on the Billboard 200. The album's aggressive rock-EDM sound resonated globally, and the group embarked on their first world tour, The Fellowship: Beginning of the End.
In 2023, ATEEZ released THE WORLD EP.2: OUTLAW, featuring the funk-hip hop single Bouncy (K-Hot Chilli Pepper), which became a viral hit. They continued their world tour, performing at major venues including the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and the O2 Arena in London. The group made history as the first K-pop boy group to perform at Coachella in 2024, solidifying their status as a global act. ATEEZ remains active, known for their passionate fanbase ATINY and their commitment to high-energy live performances.
Formation Story
ATEEZ's formation began with leader Hongjoong, who sent a mixtape CD and handwritten letter to KQ Entertainment in 2014. The package sat untouched for a year before staff discovered it and invited him to audition. He became the first trainee for the new boy group in 2015. About six months later, Yunho joined as a dance trainee, followed by Mingi and others through auditions and scouting.
Several members had prior training experience: Yeosang and Wooyoung trained at Big Hit Entertainment for four years before joining KQ, while San and Seonghwa came from local dance and vocal academies. The group was initially known as KQ Fellaz and released pre-debut content, including a dance video filmed in Los Angeles. They debuted as ATEEZ in 2018 after a reality show documenting their training.

Musical Style
ATEEZ's music blends EDM, hip-hop, pop, and rock, often characterized by powerful drops, chant-like choruses, and theatrical arrangements. Their early TREASURE era featured pirate-themed, high-energy tracks with trap influences. The FEVER era introduced more diverse sounds, including Latin-inspired rhythms and emotional synth-pop. Their recent THE WORLD era leans into industrial rock and cyberpunk aesthetics, with songs like Guerrilla featuring aggressive guitar riffs and anthemic calls to action.
Lyrically, ATEEZ explores themes of adventure, rebellion, self-discovery, and breaking free from societal constraints. Each album series follows a cohesive storyline, creating a rich narrative universe that fans analyze and engage with deeply. The group is heavily involved in production, with Hongjoong and Mingi contributing to songwriting and rap-making, while the vocal line showcases versatility across genres.
