Armin Arlert

Armin Arlert grew up in the Shiganshina District, a town on the outer edge of Wall Maria. From a young age, he was fascinated by the world beyond the Walls, spending his time reading books about the outside world and dreaming of seeing it for himself. However, his weak physique and unconventional ideas made him a target for bullies, and he was often protected by his childhood friends Eren Yeager and Mikasa Ackerman. This bond would shape the rest of his life.

During the Fall of Shiganshina, when the Colossal Titan breached Wall Maria, Armin lost his home and became a refugee. He, Eren, and Mikasa joined the 104th Training Corps to learn how to fight the Titans. Despite his physical weakness, Armin excelled academically and demonstrated a sharp strategic mind. Armin is initially portrayed as nervous, self-doubting, and physically weak, but he is also brilliant, analytical, empathetic, and fiercely loyal. He often sees himself as a burden, yet his strategic insight repeatedly saves his comrades and shifts the course of the story. As he grows, he becomes more confident and willing to make difficult moral choices, though he carries the weight of those decisions heavily.
