Apple Corps

Apple Corps is the multimedia company founded by the Beatles in the 1960s, originally conceived as a tax-efficient conglomerate. Its most famous division, Apple Records, launched in 1968 and released the band's albums as well as solo works. Other ventures included Apple Electronics, Apple Films, Apple Publishing, and the short-lived Apple Boutique on Baker Street. The name is a pun on "apple core."

During the late 1960s, Apple Corps operated from several London addresses, including 3 Savile Row, which housed the Apple studio and became the site of the Beatles' famous rooftop concert. Neil Aspinall, the band's former road manager, served as CEO from 1970 to 2007, steering the company through legal battles and the eventual remastering of the Beatles' catalog. In 2010, Apple Corps ranked number two on Fast Company's list of most innovative music companies, bolstered by the release of The Beatles: Rock Band and the remastered albums.

Jeff Jones took over as CEO in 2007 and resigned in 2024. In July 2025, Apple announced Tom Greene as the new CEO, starting in September. A major development came in May 2026 when Apple Corps acquired the original Savile Row building, planning to open a "fan experience" museum in 2027. The museum will feature a replica of the basement recording studio, access to the rooftop, exhibits, and a merchandise shop. [edit]
