Elite rock climber and kayaker Sasha embarks on a solo expedition through the remote Wandarra National Park in Australia, hoping to push her physical limits and process a recent personal loss. Seeking both atonement and escape, she plans a solo expedition into the remote Wandarra National Park in Australia, a vast, under-patrolled wilderness of towering cliffs, dense scrub, and treacherous rivers. Her stated goal is to complete a demanding route combining multi-pitch rock climbs, back-country trekking, and advanced river kayaking without support. Unspoken, however, is a darker motivation: testing how far she can go, and whether she even deserves to come back.

Her journey begins quietly. Sasha checks in with a park ranger who notes the dangers of Wandarra, mentioning a series of unresolved missing persons cases that have made locals uneasy. He warns her to stay on marked routes and log her waypoints. Sasha, determined to avoid people and prove her self-reliance, quickly veers off established trails to pursue a more extreme, self-designed itinerary that takes her along sheer cliffs and down hazardous canyons.

Early on, the film establishes Sasha's extraordinary competence: she free-climbs exposed sections with methodical precision, rigs her own anchors, and navigates white-water stretches that would turn back most professionals. Intercut flashbacks to Norway and to moments with Tommy hint at their shared philosophy of living on the edge and the fateful choices that led to his death, but the details are revealed only gradually. These memories haunt her nights and intrude on moments when her concentration should be absolute.

The tone shifts when Sasha notices small anomalies: a distant glint of glass high on a ridge where no trail exists, an echoing metallic sound that does not match the wind, the sense of being watched. She discovers an old, weather-faded warning sign partially buried in brush and a makeshift cairn containing a rusted key and a torn scrap of synthetic fabric that doesn't belong to any hiker's gear. Her GPS also briefly glitches, then reboots with several of her logged tracks missing, which she chalks up to terrain interference.

She crosses paths with Ben, a seemingly affable solo hiker she first spots at a distance near a gorge. Their initial interaction is wary but polite. Ben claims to be on his own walkabout after burning out from city life. He's charming, knowledgeable about gear, and oddly well-informed about remote segments of Wandarra that are rarely visited. Sasha, hardened by grief and used to solitude, keeps things brief and declines his suggestion that they cover a particularly rough stretch together.

As Sasha pushes deeper into the park, she finds increasingly disturbing signs: a shredded backpack snagged high in a tree; a cluster of improvised wooden stakes driven into soft ground near an otherwise scenic lookout; and, most unsettling, a rock face bearing chalk marks and route notes written in a style she recognizes from climbing forums, as if other expert climbers had been lured here before her. In a narrow gorge, she discovers a hidden alcove containing battered equipment from multiple people helmets, climbing shoes, a cracked satellite phone arranged with unnerving care.

Her suspicions coalesce when a crossbow bolt slams into the rock inches from her as she ascends a sheer wall, narrowly missing her and severing one of her ropes. Cut off and exposed, she realizes that someone is not just watching her they are actively manipulating her route, forcing her onto more dangerous terrain where a natural accident would be easy to stage. From vantage points she cannot see, a pair of hunters use optics and long-range weapons to track her movements, communicating via radios and using knowledge of the park's blind spots to stay hidden.

Sasha's solitary healing journey has become a cat-and-mouse survival game. She is the trophy in a twisted sport played by people who treat Wandarra as their private killing ground, exploiting its isolation and the park's history of disappearances. Drawing on every ounce of her training, she begins to adapt: hugging shadowed routes, setting false trails, and turning her climbing gear into improvised defenses. When she encounters Ben again, his presence in precisely the wrong place at the wrong time raises stark questions: is he another unsuspecting hiker caught in the same trap, or is he connected to the hunters orchestrating this nightmare?
